OK, here I am, no need to panic. I know I took a little hiatus there. Truthfully, I’ve just been feeling incredibly lazy. I cannot put too fine a point on that. L-A-Z-Y, I ain’t got no alibi, I’m lazy, hey hey I’m lazy,
I’ve not had motivation to do much of anything. Things at work have been busy, and I’m trying to finish up my work with my life coach in addition to a couple of other projects I’m working on. Working out and eating what I’m suppose to has not been on the forefront of my mind. And my sleeping has been off…way off.
Somehow though, when I weighed in last Wednesday, I miraculously lost 1.7 lb. If the universe is trying to teach me something, losing weight while still scarfing down pints of Haagen Dazs is not the best life lesson. Honestly, the only thing that saved me were the 5 km walks my brother made me go on. Yes, made me. I went kicking and screaming. If I was going to be forced to go I wasn’t going down without a fight.
But alas I can’t keep up this sloth-like behaviour forever (although, not to toot my own horn, it’s a craft I’ve perfected over the last 38 years). Two things are motivating me to get back on the horse:
- I started watching episodes of Extreme Makeover: Weight Loss Edition that I had recorded on the DVR but hadn’t had time to watch yet. If anything is going to make me feel like a complete moaner and complainer it’s this show.
- It’s almost September. Let me repeat that…IT’S ALMOST SEPTEMBER!!
I love September…autumn is my favourite time of year. The cool crisp air, leaves changing colours, the unmistakable urge to busy school supplies. I know none of these things help me with losing weight, but I just love the fresh start of September.
So if you’ve been thinking about starting to get healthy or getting back on track, now is the perfect time to do it. Who’s with me? Anyone? Is this thing on??
